The Preeminence of Christ

Our theme for this new year is “Jesus over Everything”. Actually, this is the constant theme of the entire Bible, being first introduced in the Garden of Eden with the promise of redeemer who would “crush” the serpent’s head. They did not know that redeemer’s name for many years to come but were reminded again and again throughout the Old Testament Scriptures of the promise God had made. Our text today is believed to be part of an early church hymn exalting the person and work of our Redeemer.
