How it all started...
The story of Unity Baptist Church began on March 21, 2004 at a home in Mahomet, Illinois, when 47 believers met together to worship the Lord, encourage one another, and study God's Word. There was a desire to put its truths into practice while reaching out to the world around us to share the good news of the gospel with them.

Expanding the vision...
An important aspect of our ministry is the care we have for one another. We cannot minister Christ's love to others, if we do not practice it among ourselves. Strengthening those bonds of Christian fellowship are important to the vision of taking the Gospel to the world. "The light that shines farthest, shines brightest at home"
Through our Pulpit Ministry, Bible Studies, fellowship activities, Youth Camps, Missions outreach, and other means we seek to create an atmosphere of love, care, and friendship among our people.

Where we are headed...
Our goal is to see those who come under the influence of our ministry established in their faith so that they might, in turn, share the love of Christ with others.
The goal of the Christian life is to increasingly be reflecting the character of Jesus Christ. That process begins with salvation. It continues with the obedience of baptism, and grows as the believer grows in the grace and knowledge of Christ throughout life. That process will culminate when the believer stands in the presence of Christ in Heaven.
