Paul’s pattern in writing his epistles was to “front load” them with doctrinal instruction. Upon that doctrinal foundation he would tell them how these truths were to work themselves out in the living of their lives. He followed the same pattern in the book of Romans – chapters 1-11 is doctrinal instruction, while 12-16 is the application of those truths to their lives. An essential part of living out our Christian life is the relationships we have with other people. That is the subject Paul talks about at the end of chapter 12. “Living Ethically in an Unethical World – 2” is taken from Romans 12:10-21.
